Transform your walls from ordinary to extraordinary with our one of a kind custom faux finishes
There are several different types of faux finishes available for your interior project. Whether it be a metallic finish, a suede finish, or even a venetian plaster that leaves your walls with a smooth texture that feels like stone, we can do it. Most of these techniques can also be done with the color of your choosing.
Blended Glazes
Glazes are created by adding color tints or paints to a glazing medium. They are applied and blended with a brush and soft cloth. The glazes are semi-translucent so various layers can be seen. The desired look is created with one to four glazes over the base coat.
Textures and Plasters
Textures and plasters are applied with a trowel and usually have two to four coats. The walls can be heavily textured or extremely smooth and have various sheen levels. Colors can have subtle changes in shade, or several textured colors with more contrast and movement.
Marbleizing
Marble comes in all colors and patterns and these can be duplicated with paint and glazes. Columns, fireplaces and walls look stunning with this technique. A high gloss top coat gives the faux marble protection and the appropriate shine.
Faux Brick
For this Faux Brick project we painted 1 base coat and a textured paint coat to resemble the grout. We then taped brick sized spaces along the entire wall and applied a plaster over top, stippling the plaster before it dried to leave a brick like texture. We then removed the tape distinguishing the individual faux bricks and painted each one with different combinations of greys, whites, and tans.
Combed Linen
To get this soft combed linen look we start the process with our normal two coat base coat. We then horizontally roll on a mixture of structured wax, metallic texture, and a heavy glazing medium and comb the product, also horizontally, with a wallpaper glue brush before the product dries. After applying a full coat we let it dry and repeat the same steps except in a vertical direction.
